CTN Expo 2017
So after taking a year off from CTN I will be joining Gonzo on another foray into the fun and exciting experience that is CTN. I took last year off (also I could probably take ever year off since I don't work in the animation field but I'll use Gonzo as an excuse as to why I should go), but am super hyped to go back this year.
So after taking a year off from CTN I will be joining Gonzo on another foray into the fun and exciting experience that is CTN. I took last year off (also I could probably take ever year off since I don't work in the animation field but I'll use Gonzo as an excuse as to why I should go), but am super hyped to go back this year.
CTN holds alittle bit of a special meaning for us, well mostly Gonzo. It was four years ago (FOUR YEARS?!?!) that we went for the first time on a whim because I wanted to see Brittney Lee so ya know, I could fan out. That was really the turning point for Gonzo on and WHAM BAM thank you ma'am this is what I wanna do. SO started what we are affectionally calling #gonzosanimationadventure and secretly in my head #haileysufferingthroughSLC. Now I won't get started on why SLC just isn't my jam but lets just say as it starts being 20 degrees or so at night and the devil's dandruff is about to start, lets just leave it at this is a perfectly wonderful little city, we just aren't a mountain family we are a beach family repeat a BEACH family and I may or may not be counting down till we get to move (psst... I am counting).
Unfortunately because of a combination of having a full time job, laziness, and Overwatch I don't have a anything to show. Also still you know, trying to figure out this thing called life and what I want to do with it. So if someone could come and solve that little conundrum for me that would be great K. thanks!
ANYWHO... this year I am so excited for Gonzo to go to CTN not only is he coming off a internship at Infinity Ward this summer (when he abandoned me for the WHOLE summer) but his reel is looking pretty awesome and I'm not biases at all ;). If you wanna check it out take a lookie!
For those going CTN good luck and say hi if you care too. Gonzo will be going from presentation to tables asking for feedback and I will be the woman walking around buying everything and anything I want! :) I have my eyes on some particular items such as the

A Summer VACAY Coming Up!

I always have such high hopes, amazing lists of things I am going to do, and over complicated plans on how to make it all happens. THAN I realize/succumb to the fact that my laziness takes over and all I want to do is watch Netflix and eat Taco Bell (Don't judge! I love the chemical meat). For all my great hopes and dreams, having a day job really puts a hamper on said goals. So as I shame myself for putting off actually sticking to my plans, I also can't help but be excited for our up coming vacation/vacay/vaYAY! Me and Gonz are going on our belated Honeymoon and I'm so excited to take him somewhere he has never been. But because he is a nervous nelly and doesn't want everyone to know where we are going I will tell all the deets later but if you want to know where we are because we are just SO interesting follow along on Instagram @haileyen and @chrisgonzogonzalez!

Half way through... phew! Wednesday are smack dap in the middle of week (obvi) which is equal parts "is it Friday yet?" and "WHAT the week can't be half over I have so much work to do?!?" So no matter which way you are feeling, I am hoping to give you either a bit of inspiration to get you through the rest of the week...
Inspiration Pick Me Ups:
Half way through... phew! Wednesday are smack dap in the middle of week (obvi) which is equal parts "is it Friday yet?" and "WHAT the week can't be half over I have so much work to do?!?" So no matter which way you are feeling. I am hoping to give you either a bit of inspiration to get you through the rest of the week and/or that can kickstart you butt into gear so you can get that work done before TGIF completely sets in. Inspiration can come from anywhere so these weekly Pick Me Ups will house all that goodness!
This week we are all about missing those floras & faunas. I am currently looking out my window longingly at all the spring that is popping up and wishing it was ACTUALLY warm enough to enjoy it. Unfortunately I have found out that I am a giant baby when it comes to winter! I always thought winter was this magic amazing time of year. This is my second true winter and I can honestly say that I was WRONG! For a weekend it's great. For almost 6 months... no Thanks. I know my midwest friends are rolling on the floor, because I find Utah to have a unbearable winter but to Gonzo and I it is like living in a winter tundra. So needless to say I can't wait to get out there and enjoy the sunshine as soon as we can! So until than this little Pick Me Up will have todo. Enjoy !

2. I know it's to late in the be planting bulbs for the spring but if you want to get a head start on next year you can some peony bulbs now for a pretty good deal. TIP: remember to store them in a dry cool place till next year, just remember where that place is. I'm not saying that I may or may have not lost many a bulbs this way. - Shop Bulbs Here
3. Now if you aren't a Gin drinking just get this darn thing because it's so flipping beautiful! Packaging is such a weakness for me, we not just mean I guess lots of people have that same weakness or there wouldn't be a whole design discipline dedicated to it. I love floral flavors to so this just look like the most irresistible purchase. Gonzo no likey the florals he tells me "they taste like Michaels smells" what ever that means. 4. Owning a home sounds like the most exciting thing ever (said the eternal renter). I literally day dream about one day getting to install these tile in a little powder room. I mean when that day comes it will go something like this:
A. I ruined my bathroom because I tried to do it myself
B. insert crying
C. Gonzo telling me I should have hired someone that "knows" what they are doing
D. insert yelling at Gonzo (because he is right)
E. Relishing the fact that maybe I didn't do as a bad a job as I thought
F. insert more crying
G. Accepting that it beautifully imperfect and I'm OKAY with that

It's been a crazy year or two since the LAST time we tried this ye old blog thing. But I actually have a plan this time around and have all kinds of fun things coming up that I can't wait to share! Summer Travels
It has been an incredible summer up to this point. We have been all over this summer from the Texas Coast to the Hills of California and the trips aren't over yet. Heading up to the wonderful Pacific Northwest this afternoon and so excited to see one of my favorite city, Portland Oregon! I can't wait get up there and explore with Gonzo!

It's Offical...I'm UNEMPLOYED... well kinda.
Well one of the first of many "Officials" that I will hopefully be saying this year and next. I had decided to leave my day job a Zappos.com to really pursue my love of illustration & design. So unemployed is alittle harsh.

So unemployed is alittle harsh. Let's say I have decided to be self employed, much better, no? Today is the first official day of working from home and I'm not gonna lie it could be worse! Having a office cat is defiently something I've wanted for some time and I'm happy to say Tesla is more than happy to fill that job, even if he makes it alittle harder to focus. Also to kick off devoting my full time to Long Shot Collective I just finished up my second wedding/anniversary cut paper commission. I really love the way that this one came out, I'm kicking myself for not taking more process pictures! Oh well, hopefully next time I can remember to put down my excato and pick up the camera!

New Chapter Count Down!
Hi All!
I super excited to say that I have only one week left before I leave Zappos.com to strike out and try something new. Along with excitement comes some trepidation as well but I am looking forward to having more time to devote to this blog as well as Long Shot Collective. You can look forward to some new merchandise that will be coming out on our shop including new cards, sketchbooks, calendar, and other fun items. Along with all that I am super excited to say I will be also continuing my education because let's be real learning never really stops! So since I am trying to focus more on illustration I will doing a few classes through Schoolism which is super exciting! So one week and counting till you can get more content that will be super awesome ( well let's hope so) but here is a fun little illustration I did at work :)
